The Virgil Finlay drawing was made for an astrology magazine.
The Zeus of Otricoli is an Ancient Roman marble bust found in Otricoli in 1175. It is now in the Pio-Clementine Vatican Museum. It is presumed to be a Roman copy of a Hellenistic original. The bust was restored in 1783 by Giovanni Pierantoni. He added the bust, neck and back of the head that it must originally been part of the colossal statue showing Zeus seated on a throne.
