Notes:
Notwithstanding the fact that the art of Virgil Finlay features prominently on the frontcover, and that The Moon Pool contains six other illustrations by Virgil Finlay, the book clearly concentrates on A. Merrit. It is advertised as the first scholarly edition of this classic science fiction novel.

Although the book contains a section titled 'About the Author and Editor', there is no such section on Virgil Finlay. Only seven lines on page 306 are about Virgil Finlay.
