The Virgil Finlay drawing was made for an astrology magazine.
The large Baroque marble sculptural group was made by Italian artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini, executed between 1621 and 1622. It depicts the Abduction of Proserpina, where Proserpina is seized and taken to the underworld by the god Pluto. The sculpture is 225 cm heigh. In the background is the three-headed watchdog of the underworld, Kerberos or Cerberus.
The scupture is in the Galleria Borghese in Rome.
