The image of the woman in the drawing "The Goddess of World 21", illustrating the story by Henry Slesar in Fantastic, 1957, is based on a photograph of Bettie Page. Virgil Finlay, amongst others, changed the direction in which the eyes look.
It may be assumed that Virgil Finlay owned a copy of Brief, issue October 1954, as also the portrait of Sophia Loren is based on a photograph published in that issue of Brief.
